You may have noticed that when we post, Barbara Kalmanson and I are giving you links to our own websites, sometimes with more links to click for added resources.
There is usually a wait while the page loads and this dissuades people from clicking and reading. Please don’t be annoyed! This is a win-win-win opportunity:
1. You are visiting a friendly page with great information
2. By visiting the page you re making it more likely that other people outside our network will see our pages when they do more web searches. This is called SEO: search engine optimization. It is an important way for us to all help get broader attention for our ideas.
3. While you are waiting for the page to load, it is a perfectmoment in the midst of an all too busy life to…. take moment to breathe, to be mindful of your surroundings, and, perhaps to be grateful for our community.
And please do the same kind of thing when you post!
Not only is this a great way to help us spread our ideas, it works in the service of advocacy for them as well.
It can seem daunting to build and nurture an online reputation, but there are free resources for learning – at the bottom of this post there is a free link to a great web video by Doctor and medical social media guru Kevin Pho MD that shows you how to get going building your own online reputation! It is written for doctors but it applies to anyone – really worth the time to watch it and, by the way, Kevin’s blog is outstanding too.
Remember Margaret Mead: small group of people can do a lot…
And, while the page is loading, take a minute for yourself to breathe and take a mindful moment.
Happy , Peaceful Browsing!
